We can carry out rigorous valve testing in controlled conditions to ensure that your valves and equipment perform as specified. In our dedicated testing facility, we work to internationally-recognised standards and can replicate even the most demanding conditions.
LIQUID TESTING
Mostly known as hydrostatic test, the test medium is a liquid such as water, oil or kerosene. Our hydrostatic tests on buttweld, flanged, screwed or socket-weld end valves of all sizes and pressure classes.
GAS TESTING
We carry out gas testing of valves, to ensure that the valve‘s body bonnet joints or gland packing are not leaking. We have one of just a few high-pressure gas testing pits. It allows gas testing with nitrogen, to 1.1 times a valve’s maximum specified working pressure (to 1,000 bar, or 14,500 psi).
FLOW TESTING
Valve capacity or ‘CV’ can be tested using a simple water flow circuit. This incorporates an accurate measurement of the flow-rate and the upstream and downstream pressures. We can accommodate any size of valve in these tests.
IN-LINE/SITU TESTING
When testing inline, precise measurements can be taken to assure /evaluate the performance of existing valves (sometimes in advance of an outage). We have a comprehensive safety valve program in which we survey all plant pressure-relieving devices and identify each piece of equipment that they protect.
We will verify with you what pressure the system or boiler should be operating at prior to the testing. Since your operation is basically up to operating pressures the testing can be performed from one valve to the next.
